Tailings Pond Underdrain 7 Julcani, Huancavelica, Peru
Subdrainage Intercultural University Juan Santos Atahualpa, Junín, Peru
In 2023, the subdrainage system was implemented for the Juan Santos Atahualpa Intercultural University, replacing traditional French drains with a more efficient solution. Eight hundred linear meters of drainage boxes were installed, optimizing the collection and conveyance of infiltrated water in critical areas of the terrain.The implemented system achieved a hydraulic management capacity of 200 cubic meters, significantly improving the performance of the underground drainage. This solution not only increased efficiency in water control but also reduced maintenance costs compared to conventional methods, providing greater sustainability to the system.
Tailings Pond Underdrain 7 Julcani, Huancavelica, Peru
The subdrainage system installed in Julcani Tailings Dam 7 effectively intercepted the groundwater coming from the adjacent slopes. The capture of the underground flow was channeled through the same system to pumping chambers, ensuring continuous and safe control of the infiltrated water.This solution with geosynthetics reinforced the operational management of the tailings dam, optimizing its performance and extending its service life under controlled conditions.
