Geomembranes

Geomembranes

Geomembranes are impermeable synthetic sheets made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Their primary function is to prevent liquid or gas infiltration in various civil engineering projects. In addition, they are specifically used to contain fluids and prevent soil and water contamination. In this way, geomembranes ensure environmental and operational integrity in critical applications.

Advantages

  • Guaranteed impermeability: Their low permeability ensures effective protection against liquid infiltration.
  • Long life and low maintenance: High resistance to chemical and physical degradation, reducing replacements and maintenance.
  • Agile and adaptable installation: Easy to install and highly flexible to adapt to different shapes and surfaces, reducing labor costs.
  • Prevent contamination: They help protect soil and groundwater from contaminants.
  • Sustainable solution: Their implementation optimizes natural resources and improves environmental quality.

Applications

  • Tailings dams
  • Leaching pads
  • Waste rock dams
  • Water dams
  • Reservoirs
  • Sanitary landfills
  • Sludge ponds
  • Canals
  • Storage tanks
  • Foundations
  • Tunnels
