As part of the production process at the La Arena mine, the extracted material needed to be transported from the pit to the processing plant, crossing the Trujillo–Huamachuco highway at kilometer 163. To ensure operational continuity and road safety, the construction of an overpass was planned to isolate heavy mining traffic from public vehicular traffic.
The solution adopted consisted of the installation of a structural arch with a span of 13,885 meters by a height of 9,482 meters. Grupo TDM participated in the supply of the structure and provided comprehensive on-site consulting, supporting the assembly process and the proper placement of the structural fill. This intervention enabled efficient integration between the mining operation and the existing road infrastructure, ensuring durability and functionality under highly demanding conditions.
Chilloroya River Crossing - Constancia Mine, Cusco, Peru
To enable a safe and efficient vehicular crossing over the Chilloroya River at the Constancia mining operation in Cusco, a structural solution capable of supporting the traffic of heavy-duty mining vehicles was developed. The design had to meet the project’s operational requirements, maintaining year-round functionality and minimizing impacts on the hydraulic environment.
The installed structure had a diameter of 9.00 meters with a beveled finish, optimized to withstand high loads and ensure adequate hydraulic performance. In this regard, Grupo TDM was responsible for the comprehensive supply and installation of the system, ensuring efficient assembly and a highly durable solution aligned with the needs of critical mining infrastructure.
