Recycled granular base with asphalt emulsion

Brochure

Recycled granular base with asphalt emulsion

The use of slow-setting asphalt emulsions significantly improves the physical and mechanical properties of granular layers, either through the incorporation of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) or borrowed granular material. This solution promotes greater structural efficiency and sustainability in pavement construction. Layers stabilized with emulsion stand out for their high mechanical stability, better performance against moisture-induced effects, and greater compaction, resulting in improved long-term performance.

Advantages

Higher mechanical strength in granular layers
Strengthens the pavement structure by improving the load-bearing capacity of the emulsion-stabilized material.

Efficient densification and partial sealing
Promotes better compaction and waterproofing of the layer, reducing system permeability.

Improved structural stability
Increases resistance to dynamic loads, optimizing the durability of the granular base.

Superior performance against moisture
Enhances resistance to water action, minimizing the risk of support loss due to moisture-induced effects.

Valorization of available materials
Allows the inclusion of RAP, promoting more sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
