On the section of the Pan-American Highway South, from the Pucusana Bridge towards Lurín, Lima, a Type III micro-surfacing was applied as a technical solution for road maintenance.

This intervention was designed considering the high traffic demands of the road. A controlled-setting cationic asphalt emulsion was used, applied at a thickness of 10 mm, which improved the pavement’s durability and ensured a uniform, resistant surface that could be quickly reopened to traffic.

The deep recycling project was carried out on the Marcona Bypass to Puerto Lomas road, using slow-setting asphalt emulsion as a stabilizing agent.

The application of slow-setting emulsion promoted better cohesion of the recycled material, increasing its mechanical strength and moisture resistance, thus contributing to a more sustainable and efficient long-term solution.

The asphalt priming process was carried out on a section of the high Andean corridor in the Cusco region, using Primetec® asphalt emulsion primer. This intervention allowed for the proper conditioning of the base surface to improve adhesion with the upper pavement layers.

This solution was selected for its ability to generate a uniform mix at ambient temperature, which facilitates efficient application even in areas with difficult access and variable climatic conditions such as those found in the high Andean region.
